After dropping Lauren off early at the airport, we decided to stop for breakfast at a restaurant that served gluten-free waffles and pancakes. The food was OK, but not great.

We went to the Tacoma Art Museum with our friends Mary Russell and Doug Buster (Mary was a colleague of Sharon's at Pierce College)
"Ring-Tailed Bassaris" by James Audubon at the Tacoma Art Museum
When we visited Ron & Bill in Arizona in 2017, we saw the cutest stuffed ringtail in museum store, and Charlotte joined the family.
Our brand new Ford Escape Hybrid!
While we've loved our two Prius vehicles (Heidi and Shelley), particularly for Robert's back, getting in and out and driving for any length of time was getting to be uncomfortable. After getting such good mileage with Heidi and Shelley, we decided we just couldn't imagine not getting at least hybrid, if not a plug-in hybrid. Unfortunately, the cars we really wanted to like (Subuaru Forester, Honda CR-V, and Toyota RAV4) each had their deal-breaker aspects. The Forester didn't come in a hybrid, the RAV4 just wasn't easy for either Sharon or Robert to get in and out of, and the CR-V, the best of the three, just wasn't quite as comfortable as the Escape. While we like the Escape in many respects, the build quality has been poor...we've had more issues with the Escape in less than a year than we had with 23 owner-years of our two Prius'.
