February: San Diego
Robert's school, Charles Wright Academy, belongs to the National Association of Independent Schools. NAIS holds an annual national conference, which was held in San Diego in February, 2005. The conference ended on a Friday, and Sharon joined him for the weekend.
It was their first trip to San Diego. It was a delightful way to spend a few days—in the sun and warmth, during a rather dreary time in the Northwest.

Heritage park is dedicated to the preservation of San Diego's victorian architecture. Expansion downtown after World War II threatened these structures with demolition on their original sites.
