August: San Francisco & Redwoods
The entire family traveled to San Francisco and to the redwoods in northern California in August, 2003. It was our first trip to San Francisco, and our first use of a digital camera.
We had been once before to the redwoods, in 1993, when we took a long (four week) family trip across the northern US and to Banff/Jasper National Parks in Canada. We were simply stunned by the beauty and majesty of the redwood trees!

All of us are chocoholics! We've gone to heaven here and had great sundaes!
Cable car museum--motor that runs the cars
It's hard to believe, but the cable cars are powered by an underground cable that runs under the street. The cable is powered by these large motors.
